Itinerary -
Day 01: Board the flight for Mumbai
Departure from the home country.
Day 02: Arrive Mumbai
Upon arrival at Mumbai International airport meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Mumbai - AurangabadGateway of India
Today we will go for half day city sightseeing tour of Mumbai visiting Gateway of India, one of Mumbai’s most famous landmarks. It was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary for the Delhi Durbar in 1911. Next you will visit the Prince of Wales Museum, which was built between 1904 and 1914 and was used as a hospital during World War I. The huge structure can be spotted from a distance as sunshine sparkles on its massive marble dome. The museum houses a priceless collection of art that is considered to be one of the best in all India. It includes a rich display of miniature paintings, ancient sculptures, jade, china and much more. We drive past University of Bombay, High Court of Bombay. You will also visit the Banganga and Hanging Gardens, which are located on the crest of Malabar Hill. The gardens are a welcome oasis of green in a city built almost entirely of concrete and cement. Next you will drive through the residential area of Mumbai’s rich and famous on Malabar Hill. You will also visit the renowned city laundry called Dhobi Ghat, the Gandhi Memorial Museum and Jain Temple.
Later in the evening transfer to the airport to board the flight for Aurangabad. Upon arrival at Aurangabad airport meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: Aurangabad - Ajanta - AurangabadAurangabad
Morning after breakfast proceed for full day excursion to Ajanta Caves - they are cut from the volcanic lavas of the Deccan trap in a steep crescent - shaped hillside in a forested ravine of the sahyadri hills, These caves are older than those at Ellora consisting of 24 monasteries and temples hewn out of solid rack. The wall paintings and frescoes of these caves are a wealth of colors, Proceed to Civic - cum - Cultural Complex, a gallery of local art and crafts and shopping complex. (Ajanta caves is closed on Monday). Later in the evening return to Aurangabad for overnight stay.
Day 05: Aurangabad - Ellora - Aurangabad - Hyderabad
Today we will have an excursion to Ellora caves. The caves are over 2000 years old and consist of temples and monasteries hewn from rocks by Buddhist, Hindu and Jains monks and craftsmen, Later in the afternoon enjoy a half day city tour of Aurangabad, visiting the Mini Taj, built by Azam Shah in 1678, the Bibi Ka Maqbara is a son’s loving tribute to the memory of his mother, Begum Rabia Durrani, the queen of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
Later return to the hotel for fresh-n-up. In the evening transfer to the railway station to board the night train for Hyderabad. Overnight stay on board.
Day 06: Arrive HyderabadCharminar, Hyderabad
Upon arrival at Hyderabad railway station, meets with our representative and transfer to the hotel. After fresh-n-up we will visit the famous Charminar it is a rectangular four arched monumental Gate often described as the - The Arch of Triumph of the East. The Charminar Situated in the heart of the old walled city, this edifice is the best known landmark with bustling bazaars all round, where a variety of articles like pearls, jewelry, bangles, chandeliers, silks are displayed. It was built in 1591 A.D. by Quli Shah, as a form of talisman to ward off the dreaded epidemic that was ravaging the city.
Later return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 07: Hyderabad
Morning after breakfast we will visit Golconda Fort. Golconda Fort is situated on the Western outskirts of Hyderabad. The fort built in the 13th century, served the kings as a bhold, Administrative Centre and Market Place. See the expansive Roof Gardens. Also visit the Tombs of Qutub Shahi Kings in a beautiful domed Mausoleum surrounded by Gardens. The tombs follow certain pattern with Hindu style ornamentation, while important ones have their own Mosques.
Later we will proceed to visit Ramoji film city to get the glimpse of Indian films Studio and few of its garden like, Askari Garden, Japanese-Garden, Sun-Fountain-Garden, Mughal-Garden, Sanctuary-Garden, Angel's-Fountain-Garden etc.
Later in the evening return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 08: Hyderabad - Chennai
Morning after breakfast transfer to the airport to board the flight for Chennai. Upon arrival at Chennai airport meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. After fresh-n-up we will go for Chennai city sightseeing visiting its museum to see the Art and Bronze Gallery (Closed on Fridays and Public holidays). Also drive through the Flower and Fruit market, High court, Fort museum, Marina Beach and Santhome Cathedral.
In the evening return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 09: Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram - ChennaiKanchipuram
Today we will have day excursion to Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram.
Kanchipuram, 70 kms west of Mahabalipuram which is a city of thousand temples. One of the seven sacred cities of Hindus, it was the capital of the early Cholas as far back as the 2nd century BC. Kanchi was a major seat of Tamil learning as well as an important place of pilgrimage for Buddhists, Jains and Hindus.A part from temples, the city is also famous for its silk weavers, who settled here some 400 years ago and have given it an enviable reputation.
Later on we shall proceed to Mahabalipuram, driving south of Chennai on the coast which is the ancient port of Pallavas. The pallavas have created many marvellous monuments with sculptural panels, caves, Monolithic Rathas and Temples. Krishna Mandapam has a big bas relief, notable for its realistic representation. The world's largest bas relief measuring 27m x 9m, whale back shaped rock contains figures of gods, demi-gods, men beasts, birds and representation of the entire creation. Shore Temple, one of the oldest in south dating back to 8th century AD is a good example of the first phase of structural temples constructed in Dravidian style. The Five Rathas are a group of five monolithic temples, each created in different style.
Evening return to Chennai for night stay.
Day 10: Chennai - Mysore
Morning after breakfast transfer to the Chennai railway station to board the train for Mysore. Upon arrival meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 11: Mysore - Belur - Halebidu - MysoreBelur Math
Today we will go for a day excursion to Belur and Halebidu.
Belur in Hassan district, 220 kms from Bangalore and 38 kms from Hassan, is famous for its magnificent Hoysala Temple Complex. The Chennakesava Temple here is the major attraction, built by Hoysala Vishnuvardhana, to commemorate his victory over the Cholas. The facade of the temple is filled with intricate sculptures with no portion left blank. It is the only Hoysala Temple still in active worship.
Halebidu in Hassan district is 27 kms away from Hassan and was the capital of the Hoysalas. It has one of the finest Hoysala temples. The Hoysaleswara Temple, perched on a star-shaped base amidst lawns, is a sculptural extravaganza. Its walls are richly carved with an endless variety of Hindu deities, sages, stylized animals, birds and friezes depicting the life of the Hoysala Kings.
Later return to Mysore for overnight stay.
Day 12: MysoreSomnath Keshawa Temple
After breakfast, visit this ancient princely city, famous for its silks, sandalwood and various palaces, among which the largest palace in India, built in Indo-Persian style in 1900. Visit an art gallery and the Chamundeshwari Temple dedicated to the goddess Kali on Chamundi Hill, from which you have a panoramic view of the city. You will also visit Somnathpur, famous for the temple of Keshava. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13: Mysore - Bangalore
After breakfast leave for Bangalore. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. After fresh-n-up we will go for sightseeing of this "Garden City". We will visit the Lal Bagh with a variety of old trees, fountains, lotus pools, terraces & an assortment of tropical and sub-tropical herbs. Further visit to the Maharaja's Palace and Government Buildings. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 14: Bangalore - Mumbai
After breakfast transfer to the airport to board the flight for Mumbai. Upon arrival at Mumbai airport meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. Remaining day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 15: Mumbai - Departure
Transfer to the international airport to board the flight for onward destination.
